Hello. My name is Peter Chadbourne. I am an amateur genealogist currently carrying out a one-name study.
I began my hobby by researching my family history which I published to all my living relatives. I then decided to take on a bigger challenge – to carry out a one-name study for the Chadbourne family name and its main variations. The was the birth of the study I have registered with the Guild of One Name Studies.
The ultimate aim of the study is to identify connections between every Chadbourne living now and in the past – a never ending task of course. This includes a number of variants as the spelling of names can change over time and region. In some cases, more than one spelling of a surname can even be found for the same individual.
On this site you will be able to see how the study is progressing, current and planned activities and brief articles on a variety of subjects including the history of particular individuals and families, the results of recent researches and the history of places with a Chadbourne family connection. The information I have gathered over the years is held on databases and, as definite connections between families are established, family trees.
As yet, this information is not available for you to search on line but I will try to answer any questions you might have about any particular individual or family group. I’d also enjoy hearing from you with any suggestions or ideas that could improve the web site or the study itself.
Most of all, I’d be delighted if you would like to consider joining the study. You would be warmly welcomed.
